The Public Relations Department of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard confirmed, in a statement on Monday, that the head of intelligence in the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, Majid Khademi, was killed in an attack at night.
The Iranian Revolutionary Guards’ statement blamed the “American-Israeli enemy” for Khademi’s killing.
Khademi was recently appointed to this position to replace former intelligence chief Mohammad Kazemi, who was killed in an Israeli attack in June during the 12-day war.
Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said in a statement on Monday that Israel is responsible for the assassination. Katz said Khademi was “directly responsible” for “war crimes and one of the top three figures” in the Iranian Revolutionary Guard.
