Esmail Baghaei, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman, said on Monday that Iran “did not hold any negotiations with America,” although President Donald Trump said this weekend that there had been talks directly and indirectly.
“They submitted a request for negotiations with a set of proposals that reached us through some mediators, including Pakistan,” Al-Bikai said.
Al-Bikai said in a press conference, “Our position is very clear: We are currently in a situation in which the American military aggression and invasion continue with intensity, and we are certainly making all our efforts and capabilities to defend ourselves.”
