Police say ‘multiple’ injuries in ‘active assault’ incident in Austin, suspect dead after shooting officer

“Several” people were injured in an incident in Austin, Texas, early Sunday, police said, adding that a suspect was pronounced dead after being shot by an officer.
The Austin Police Department issued a statement urging people to avoid the area near the 600 block of Rio Grande Street.

The Austin Fire Department previously said emergency personnel were earlier responding to a call of an “active attack” in the state capital.
