Iran live updates: Iran’s attacks on US fall below threshold for resumption of fighting, says Kane

The fragile ceasefire between the United States and Iran is still holding, with Iranian attacks falling short of the threshold for ending the agreement, US officials told reporters on Tuesday.
“Since the ceasefire was declared, Iran has fired on commercial ships nine times, seized two container ships, and attacked U.S. forces more than 10 times, all below the threshold for resuming major combat operations at this point,” Gen. Dan Kean, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, told reporters on Tuesday.

The decision to resume military operations is a political one and Kaine and Defense Minister Pete Hegseth have not commented on it.
“At the moment the ceasefire is definitely holding, but we will be watching closely,” Hegseth said.
