Live updates in Iran: Trump announces he is extending the ceasefire indefinitely

President Donald Trump announced on Tuesday that he would indefinitely extend the current ceasefire with Iran and continue the US naval blockade of the Strait of Hormuz as talks continue.
Trump said in a social media post that Pakistani mediators have asked the United States to “suspend our attack” so that Iranian officials can “come to a unified proposal.”
Trump continued: “Therefore, I have directed our military to continue the siege, and in all other respects, to remain ready and able, and therefore I will extend the ceasefire until such time as their proposal is presented, and the discussions are concluded, one way or another.”
This comes hours after Trump told CNBC that he did not want to extend the ceasefire and threatened to continue the bombing. He added that Iran has no choice but to accept the agreement.
