Artemis II live updates: Crew tests Orion’s systems, prepares to hurtle toward the moon

NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman said Artemis 2 represents “America’s grand return to the Moon” during a press conference on Wednesday evening.
NASA astronauts Reed Wiseman, Victor Glover Jr. and Christina Koch and Canadian Space Agency astronaut Jeremy Hansen “are safe. They’re safe, they’re in good spirits,” Isaacman said.
“We will continue to monitor their health and condition as we move to the next phase of the Artemis II mission,” he continued. “You have our commitment to keeping the public as informed as possible about this historic mission.

“We’re going to have our celebration until this crew parachutes out and lands off the West Coast,” Isaacman said.
About 51 minutes into the flight, during a planned handoff between the satellites, there was a temporary loss of communications with the ground team, which was unable to receive data from the crew or the spacecraft, Isaacman said. But he said communications had since returned.
